Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen an upward trend early Thursday on the back of local purchases.
By 10:28 Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 18.52 points, or 0.12%, to 14,785.01 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.24% to 691.01 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.23% to 1,749.35 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.58% to 2,377 points.
Trading volume amounted to 20.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 91.2 million through 3,300 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 2.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 326,020 and EGP 2.17 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.35% to EGP 89.
