EGX opens Thursday in red

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen a bearish trend early Thursday on the back of Egyptian and Arab sell-offs.

By 10:16 Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index shed 12.06 points, or 0.08%, to 15,476.43 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.04% to 746.89 points, while the broader EGX100 index dipped 0.04% to 1,919.91 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index slipped 0.12% to 2,492 points.

Trading volume amounted to 4.1 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 11.04 million through 548 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 25,500, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 18,300 and EGP 8,200, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went down 0.21% to EGP 85.01, with a turnover of EGP 819,000.
