Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session up, bolstered by foreign and Arab buying.
By 10:24 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.02% or 2.83 points, to 14,836.56.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.1% to EGP 76.18 at a turnover of EGP 33,900.
The small- and medium-caps EGX70 index went up 0.29% to 836.73 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.19% to 1,978.33 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index settled at 2,582 points.
Trading volume reached about 7.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 36.3 million through 1,300 transactions.
Egyptian traders were mostly sellers, netting EGP 334,300, while foreign and Arab traders were net buyers with EGP 212,600 and EGP 121,800, respectively.
