EGX opens Thursday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubaher: the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note amid local buying.

By 10:36 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 0.67% or 92.24 points to the level of 13,681.75 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) rose 0.84% to EGP 76.

The EGX70 index dropped 1.13% to 788.77 points, while the EGX100 index slipped 0.51% to 1,754.44 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 1.03% to 2,455 points.

Trading volume reached 76 million shares exchange at a turnover of EGP 287 million through 7,000 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 30.3 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 29.5 million and EGP 723,000, respectively.
