EGX opens Thursday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:16 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index slipped 0.15% to 13,345.62 points, losing 19.96 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.03% to 687.3 points, while the broader EGX100 index dipped 0.01% to 1,723.77 points and the equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 0.2% to 2,202 points.

Trading volume amounted to 7.05 million shares exchanged through 1,060 transactions at a turnover of EGP 40.6 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 342,700, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 49,230 and EGP 293,400, respectively.

EGX heavyweight the Commercial International Bank (CIB) saw no trades during that time.
