EGX opens Thursday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Thursday’s trading session with a mixed performance. 

By 10:14 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 29.88 points, or 0.21%, to 14,802.22 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.06% to EGP 70.3, with a turnover of EGP 8.8 million.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.02% to 714.84 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index rose 0.04% to 1,802 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index declined 0.22% to 2,451 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 93.44 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 89.6 million through 1,500 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 1.07 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 1.05 million and EGP 18,600, respectively.
