EGX opens Thursday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:24 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index shed 0.22% to 15,092.16 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.9% to 702.23 points, while the broader EGX100 index levelled up 0.11% to 1,781.88 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.18% to 2,457 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 12.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 118.8 million through 2,380 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 26.19 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 25.66 million and EGP 529,700, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slipped 0.51% to EGP 70.43, with a turnover of EGP 18.4 million.
