EGX opens Tuesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has hit record highs early Tuesday on the back of local and foreign purchases.

By 10:29 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index leveled up 167.88 points, or 0.99%, to 16,908.32 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went up 0.33% to EGP 87.16 at a turnover of EGP 8.25 million.

The EGX70 index grew 1.01% to 914.44 points, while the EGX100 index added 1.11% to 2,267 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index jumped 1.58% to 2,891 points.

Trading volume reached about 88.03 million shares exchanged through 7,600 transactions at a turnover of around EGP 467.9 million.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 56.4 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 39.5 million and EGP 16.8 million.
