Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of foreign and Arab buying.
By 10:16 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 74.91 points, or 0.56%, to 13,417.99 points.
Most of the blue-chip stocks rose early Tuesday, topped by EFG Hermes and Elsewedy Electric, which jumped 2.68% and 2.19%, respectively.
The small- and mid-cap EGGX70 index levelled up 0.11% to 688.12 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.19% to 1,725.18 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.53% to 2,199 points.
Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to 18.07 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 87.6 million through 2,400 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 3.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 3.16 million and EGP 244,900, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 0.13% to EGP 76.6.
