Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session down, pressured by local and foreign selling.
By 10:21 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index lost 277.24 points, or 1.57%, to 17,407 points.
The EGX70 index dipped 0.16% to 875.91 points, while the EGX100 index slipped 0.33% to 2,244 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index tumbled 0.89% to 3,019 points.
Trading volume reached about 132.7 million exchanged at EGP 448.8 million through 6,040 transactions.
Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 4.3 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 76,500 and EGP 4.3 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.99% to EGP 87.02.
