EGX opens Tuesday near-stable

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session up on the back of Arab and foreign buying.

By 10:21 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.09% or 13.7 points to the level of 14,857.03.

The EGX70 index added 0.07% to 828.46 points, while the EGX100 index grew 0.04% to 1,956.65 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.12% to 2,563 points.

Trading volume reached 7.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 27.15 million through 1,300 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 4.9 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 990,300 and EGP 3.9 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched down 0.01% to EGP 75 at a turnover of EGP 184,400.
