EGX opens Tuesday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note amid local selling against foreign and Arab buying.

By 10:18 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index slid 0.14% or 20.67 points to 15,107.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.07% to 838.47 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.03% to 1,995 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index dipped 0.02% to 2,673 points.

Trading volume reached about 13 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 52.3 million through 1,500 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 8.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 7.2 million and EGP 1.23 million respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slipped 0.23% to EGP 78 at a turnover over of EGP 1.2 million.
