Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a negative performance early Wednesday, pressured by foreign and local selling.
By 10:10 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index lost 0.3%, or 45.27 points, to the level of 14,633.14 points.
The EGX70 index dipped 0.28% to 838.07 points and the EGX100 index slipped 0.22% to 1,957.76 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 0.27% to 2,578 points.
Meanwhile, trading volume reached 8.6 million shares exchanged through 1,100 transactions at a turnover of EGP 42.1 million.
Arab traders were net buyers with EGP 1.1 million, while foreign and Egyptian traders were net sellers with EGP 780,300 and EGP 531,800, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid 0.04% to EGP 72.52 with a traded value of EGP 441,400.
