Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices rose collectively early Wednesday, bolstered by foreign and Arab buying.
By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index grew 0.26% or 36.17 points to the level of 13,766.17 points.
The EGX70 index inched up 0.4% to 751.67 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.4% to 1,677.25 points.
Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.6% to 2,230 points.
Trading volume reached 64.9 million shares exchanged through 27,900 at a turnover of EGP 133.16 million.
Foreign and Arab were net buyers with EGP 2.3 million and EGP 3.2 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 5.5 million.
Blue chips including Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt (ADIB), Orascom telecom, and Arabian Cement gained 7.5%, 2.82%, and 2.13%, respectively.
On the other hand, Telecom Egypt, Citadel Capital, and Arab Cotton Ginning dropped 3.05%, 2.10%, and 1.68%, respectively.
The heavy-weight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) levelled up 0.26% to EGP 82, with a turnover of EGP 5.6 million.
