EGX opens Wednesday in green on Arab buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of Arab buying.

By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 60.12 points, or 0.34%, to 17,874 points.

The small- and medium-caps EGX70 index added 0.49% to 878.16 points, and the broader EGX100 index leveled up 0.2% to 2,274 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.39% to 3,037 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 24.4 million shares exchanged through 3,300 transactions with a turnover of 149.5 million.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 14.9 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 8.5 million and EGP 6.4 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) gained 0.97% to EGP 92.5 with a turnover of EGP 1,200.
