Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session up on the back of local and non-Arab buying.
By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EX30 index gained 165.79 points, or 0.97%, to 17,279.69 points.
The EGX70 index added 0.39% to 890.08 points, while the EGX100 index went up 0.48% to 2,275 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index jumped 1.09% to 2,898 points.
Trading volume stood at around 49.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 246.2 million through 4,350 transactions.
Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 23.09 million, while Egyptian and non-Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 17.18 million and EGP 5.9 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) edged up 0.17% to EGP 89.21.
