EGX opens Wednesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session up on the back of local buying.

By 10:20 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 43.93 points, or 0.28%, to 15,982 points.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.01% to 798.58 points, and the EGX100 index levelled up 0.04% to 2,036 points. The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.29% to 2,686 points.

Trading volume reached around 16.6 million shares exchanged through 1,450 transactions at a turnover of EGP 146.13 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 7.2 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 5.7 million and EGP 2.07 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid 0.42% to EGP 84.5.
