Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session up on the back of foreign and local buying.
By 10:27 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 125.31 points, or 0.93%, to 13,561.42 points.
The small and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.15% to 704.31 points, and the broader EGX100 index added 0.25% to 1,759.67 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.9% to 2,186 points.
Trading volume on stocks amounted to around 30.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 127.7 million through 2,600 transactions.
Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 1.06 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 606,400 and EGP 454,060, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) gained 0.24% to EGP 80.65, with a turnover of EGP 75,500.
