EGX opens Wednesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Tuesday’s trading session up on the back of foreign buying.

By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 32.55 points, or 0.23%, to 13,921.06 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.55% to 777.82 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.38% to 1,730.44 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.48% to 2,324 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to 72.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 155.5 million through 4,500 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 67.33 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 66.13 million and EGP 1.19 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.34% to EGP 81.9.
