EGX opens Wednesday mixed; EGX30 sole faller

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday on a mixed note amid local and foreign buying against Arab selling.

By 10:20 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched down 5.5 points, or 0.03%, to 18,290 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.53% to 881.8 points, while the EGX100 index went up 0.45% to 2,316 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.23% to 3,081 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 22.2 million shares exchanged through 2,200 transactions at a turnover of EGP 147.3 million.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 3.3 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 1.25 million and EGP 2.07 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.35% to EGP 93.52, with a turnover of EGP 140,000.
