EGX opens Wednesday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index slid 70.54 points, or 0.39%, to 16,938.87 points.

The EGX70 index edged up 0.16% to 854 points, and the EGX100 index dipped 0.07% to 2,182 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 0.34% to 2,903 points.

Trading volume on stocks amounted to around 27.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 89.6 million through 1,900 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 2.9 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 2.4 million and EGP 447,400, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.59% to EGP 87.02, with a turnover of EGP 5.11 million.
