EGX opens Wednesday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index slipped 0.1% to 15,119 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.03% to 675.43 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched up 0.02% to 1,722 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 0.17% to 2,398 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 12.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 17.5 million through 695 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 537,600, whereas foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 489,300 and EGP 48,290, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid 0.23% to EGP 73.
