EGX opens Wednesday up on local buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw positive performance early Wednesday on the back of Egyptian buying.

By 10:27 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index opened the trading session up 0.16% or 20.06 points to the level of 13,951.76 points.

The EGX70 index rose 1.34% to 759.23 points, while the EGX100 index added 1.07% to 1,787.44 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.78% to 2,340 points.

Trading volume reached 42.05 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 113.8 million through 3.200 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 3.9 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 2.4 million and EGP 1.4 million, respectively.

The heavy-weight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shed 1.45% to EGP 80, with a turnover of EGP 7.3 million.
