EGX opens in red on blue-chip stocks

Cairo – Mubasher: EGX indices collectively initiated Wednesday’s trading session on a lower note.

By 10:30am Cairo time, the benchmark was 0.80% lower to the mark of 7,460 points on blue-chip stocks.

CIB, the largest EGX30 constituent, opened 0.65% down. In addition, OTMT, Citadel Capital, Palm Hills, EFG-Hermes, Talaat Moustafa, Global Telecom, and Pioneers saw a slide ranging from 0.36% to 3%.  

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 declined by 0.13% to 370 points. The broader index EGX100 slipped 0.22% to 779 points. The equal-weighted index EGX50 decreased by 0.99% to 1,392 points.

Trading value reached EGP 88 million. Further, the bourse saw 19 stocks move up, 82 go down, and 39 stay at their previous levels.

Egyptians were net sellers by EGP 5.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 3.7 million and EGP 2 million respectively.
