Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) finished the mid-week trading session in the green territory, gaining EGP 5.7 billion.
The benchmark index EGX30 rose 171.28 points or 1.3% to stand at 13,436.1 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 closed 0.9% higher to 481.6 points.
The broader index EGX100 increased 0.94% to 1,169.56 points and the equal-weighted index EGX50 was up 1.1% to 2,091.5 points.
Trading volume moved to 540.5 million shares traded at EGP 1.8 billion.
Market capitalization added EGP 5.69 billion to end at EGP 637.8 billion.
Foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 252.4 million, while Nationals and Arabs were net sellers by EGP 193.3 million and EGP 59.13 million respectively.
The bourse started the session on a positive note as the benchmark index rose 0.8% or 103.8 points to 13,368.68 points on foreign purchases by 10:26 Cairo local time (CLT).
Earlier, market analyst Mohamed Khedir indicated the index is likely to target the level of 13,500 after breaking the 13,000 barrier today, expecting more rises towards the 17,000 – 18,500 zone on the long run.
