Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange indices continued their rally till Wednesday’s mid-session, amid strong buying activity among national and Arab traders.
The main index, or EGX30 gained 2.4% or 154 points to reach 6,578 points, backed by leading stocks.
The equal-weighted index EGX50 also rose by 1.97% to 1,112 and the small and mid-cap index EGX70 pulled ahead by 1.8% to 356.5 points. The broader index EGX100 rose by 1.16% to 750.5 points.
Turnover amounted to EGP 372 million, generated from exchanging 218 million shares in 13,200 transactions.
National and Arab traders were net buyers by EGP 29.2 million and EGP 8.5 million in a row, while foreign traders came in as net sellers by EGP 37.7 million.
The heaviest weight CIB rose by 3.5% to EGP 45.4, while Global Telecom advanced by 10% to EGP 1.87.
