EGX rises Monday on Arab buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rebounded on Monday late trading as the market capitalization gained EGP 850 million on the back of Arab buying.

EGX30 added 0.73% or 57.71 points to the level of 7,974.12 points, while EGX70 lost 0.05% and closed at the level of 351.27 points.

EGX100 levelled up 0.15% to 801.13 points. The equal weighted index EGX50 also rose 0.54% to 1346.2 points.

The market cap increased EGP 825 million to EGP 411.125 billion, compared to EGP 410.3 billion at the end of Sunday’s trading session.

Arab investors leaned towards buying, netting EGP 33.7 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors netted EGP 16.3 million and EGP 17.3 million respectively.

Palm Hills added 2.09% and registered the highest traded value at more than EGP 70 million, after 29.17 million shares were traded.

Total turnover reached EGP 395.4 million, with a traded volume of 132.6 million shares.

A total of 158 stocks were traded on Monday, of which 56 fell, 60 rose, and 42 remained unchanged.
