Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session in a rise after five sessions in decline.
The benchmark index EGX30 went up 0.84% gaining 104.77 points to the level of 12,553.12 points, by 10:26 AM.
EGX70 grew 0.37% to 509.06 points, while the broader index EGX100 added 0.49% to the level of 1,215.46 points.
Meanwhile, the equal-weighted index EGX50 increased by 1.37% to 1,949.76 points.
Traded volumes reached 23 million shares with a turnover of EGP 70.04 million, by 10:30 AM.
Arab Cotton Ginning registered the highest traded value with EGP 10.7 million, going up 3.27% to EGP 4.75.
Commercial International Bank (CIB), the stock with the biggest weight in the main index, rose 0.95% to EGP 76.5, with a traded volume of 486,000 shares.
Yesterday, EGX30 lost 0.44% or 53.38 points, and closed at the level of 12,448.35 points, its lowest level since 3 January.
