Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) maintained its gains on Sunday, supported by the purchasing activity of local investors.
The benchmark index EGX30 rose by 5.92% and closed at 9,750 points.
The equal-weighted EGX70 added 3.5% and settled at 869 points, while the broader EGX100 went up 4.27% and closed at 969.8 points.
The market cap rose by EGP 19.62 billion and reached EGP 524.36 billion.
A volume of 229.27 million shares was traded through 25,270 transactions at a value of EGP 755.59 million.
Egyptian investors were inclined towards buying at a net EGP 9.37 billion, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers at EGP 8.75 billion and EGP 616 million, in that order.
