EGX sheds 58 pts at close Tuesday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed after mixed performance in Tuesday’s session.

The benchmark EGX30 index continued its retreat, falling 0.43% or 58.36 points to the level of 13,474.88 at close.

The Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) lost 1.01% to EGP 81.55.

On the positive side, the EGX70 index rose 1.69% to 725.52 points, while EGX100 edged up 0.95% to 1,618.93 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 inched down 0.18% to the level of 2,147 points.

Trading volume stood at 575.37 million shares exchanged through 30,430 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.2 billion.  

Market capitalisation gained EGP 111.3 million to close at EGP 712.36 billion.

Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 72.89 million and EGP 16.9 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 89.8 million.

Elsewedy Electric topped retreating leading shares with 2.53%, followed by Oriental Weavers which shed 2.13%, and Pioneers Holding with 2.09%.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Resorts Company grew 3.15%, while Amer Group levelled up 2.78% and SIDPEC added 2.68%.
