Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday’s trading session up on the back of local purchases.
By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 237 points, or 1.75%, to 13,743 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.16% to 673.6 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.37% to 1,701.4 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 1.46% to 2,193 points.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 12.3 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 1.6 million and EGP 1.7 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, the bourse's trading volume amounted to around 20.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 109 million through 3,300 transactions.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) leaped 2.3%, with a turnover of EGP 8.9 million.
