EGX to trim stock suspension period starting Tuesday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) said it has decided to begin implementing the decision to trim the duration for suspending stocks crossing price limits starting Tuesday.

The new suspension duration has been set to 15 minutes, instead of 30 minutes previously, the EGX said in a statement on Monday.

It added that if a stock’s movement reaches 5% up or down, trading on the stock will be suspended, whether this is during the pre-session or the ordinary trading session.

In the same respect, the EGX said that Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) has approved the decision by EGX’s board to reduce the suspension duration for stocks to 15 minutes rather than 30 minutes in the past.
