Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark EGX30 index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose at Thursday’s open by 1.56% or 200.8 points to the level of 13,083.7 points, backed by local purchases.
Similarly, the EGX70 index leapt 0.74% to 479.09 points, the EGX100 index advanced 0.93% to 1,168.4 points and the equal-weighted index EGX50 moved 1.47% up to 1,986.5 points.
By 10:29am Cairo time, turnover amounted to EGP 141.9 million as 48.99 million shares were exchanged.
Emaar Misr made the highest turnover of EGP 18.97 million, the stock rose 1.87% to EGP 2.73.
Citadel Capital, EFG Hermes and Pioneers Holding increased 1.7%, 0.95% and 0.39% respectively.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt rose 1.06% to EGP 77.99, with a turnover of EGP 1.6 million.
Net buying by institutions reached EGP 10.3 million, while net purchases by local and Arab investors amounted to EGP 1.5 million and EGP 53,700.
Foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 1.6 million.
The EGX30 index declined on Tuesday 0.92% or 120.01 points to the level of 12,882 points, the EGX50 index also shrank 0.64% to 1,957.74 points.
