Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note amid Egyptian selling.
The benchmark EGX30 index tumbled 0.54% or 69.80 points to the level of 12,926.4 points.
Market capitalisation lost EGP 2.12 billion and closed at EGP 689.008 billion.
The EGX70 index gained 0.61% to 691.14 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.21% to 1,555.13 points.
The equally-weighted EGX50 index slipped 0.98% to 1,992 points.
Traded volume reached 141.54 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 479.05 million through 17,430 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers by EGP 130.93 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 17.43 million and EGP 112.96 million, respectively.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shed 0.22% to EGP 81.16.
Blue chips Arabian Cement, Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima), and Orascom Telecom fell 4.94%, 3.7%, and 3.03%, respectively.
On the other hand, Egyptian Financial and Industrial Company (EFIC), Emaar Misr, and Telecom Egypt levelled up 2.57%, 1.16%, and 0.6%, respectively.
