EGX30 down 5.2% in week

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended last week’s trade in decline, as the benchmark index (EGX30) lost 5.19% and closed at 13,008 points.

EGX70 EWI fell by 3.73% to 1,209 points, while the broader index EGX100 lost 3.93 and closed at 1,311 points.

Similarly, the equal weighted index (EGX50) ended the week on a 5.29% decline at 1,772 points.

Market cap losses amounted to EGP 28.6 billion last week, closing at EGP 667 billion, compared with EGP 695.6 billion in the week before.

Traded volumes reached 1.44 billion shares, with a turnover of EGP 7.4 billion, through 110,000 transactions.

Egyptians dominated 64.4% of the total trade, while foreign and Arab investors accounted for 26.2% and 9.4%, respectively.
