Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a sideways-to-upward trend at the end of Sunday’s trading session.
The main EGX30 index went up by 0.22%, ending the session at 14,237 points.
Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged down 0.04% to close at 530.69 points, while the broader EGX100 index increased by 0.06% to 1,407 points.
In addition, the equal-weighted EGX50 index advanced by 0.58% to 2,052 points.
Market capitalisation gained about EGP 688 million to EGP 714.32 billion on Sunday, compared to EGP 713.63 billion on Thursday.
Trading volume amounted to EGP 196.34 million securities exchanged at a turnover of 8.12 billion, including EGP 381.25 million for stocks and EGP 7.622 billion for primary dealers, through around 17,020 transactions.
Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 386.26 million and EGP 22.58 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 408.84 million.
