Cairo – Mubasher: The main index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session in the green territory amid heavy turnover on the back of rising blue-chip stocks.
The EGX30 index rose by 5.13%, ending the session at 9,205 points.
Most blue-chip stocks ended the session on a rise, topped by Heliopolis Housing and Orascom Construction which advanced by 10%.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped by 9.99% to EGP 61.03 after generating a turnover of EGP 397.9 million.
Meanwhile, the EGX70 EWI fell by 0.34% to 840 points, while the EGX100 index increased by 0.24% to 930 points.
The market’s turnover reached EGP 1.24 billion after 483.2 million shares through around 34,700 transactions.
Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 573.23 million and EGP 42.16 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 615.39 million.
The market cap value gained EG 11.11 billion to EGP 504.74 billion.
