EGX30 ends Tuesday mixed near 15,000 pts

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note amid Arab and foreign buying against local selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.54%, or 79.52 points, closing near 15,000 points at 14,922.85.

The small- and medium-caps EGX70 index dipped 0.19% to 826.36 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.3% to 1,961.62 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index remained stable at 2,560 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume stood at 126.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 622.6 million through 19,800 transactions.

Egyptian investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 34.9 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 32.15 million and EGP 2.7 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.12% to EGP 75.1 at a turnover of EGP 83.6 million.

Blue chips including Domty, Amer Group, and SODIC fell 3.27%, 2.94%, and 2.83%, respectively.

On the other hand, Ezz Steel, Eastern Co, and Cairo Oils rose 3.27%, 2.29%, and 1.06%, respectively.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 806.9 billion, gaining EGP 3.5 billion.
