EGX30 hits 4M-high

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) benchmark EGX30 index has broken 14,000 points and hit its highest level since October 2018 on the back of the rising blue-chips stocks.

By 11:50 am Cairo time, the EGX30 index leapt 164.38 points, or 1.18%, to 14,140 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to around 98.2 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 521.4 million.

Qatar National Bank Al Ahli led rising blue chips with 6.97%, followed by Global Telecom and Heliopolis Housing, which gained 5.88% and 5.68%, respectively.

Moreover, the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.24% to EGP 83.9, with a  turnover of EGP 25.79 million.
