EGX30 jumps 75 pts early Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday in the green, backed by a growth in Egyptian and Arab investors buying.

By 10:18 am Cairo time, the benchmark index EGX30 surged 0.51%, or 74.74 points, to 14,664.94 points.

The small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 inched up 0.61% to 793.83 points, while the index EGX100 added 0.54% to 1,874.77 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 gained 1.03% to 2,567 points with 0.27% up, reaching 2,574 points.

The bourse’s trading volume amounted to 16.16 million, through 2,110 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 113.33 million.

Foreign investors were net sellers with 39.27 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 30.65 million, and EGP 8.6 million, respectively.

The Commercial International Bank’s (CIB) stock gained 1.61% to EGP 74.28, with a liquidity of EGP 11.87 million.

Sixth of October for Development and Investment’s (SODIC) stock increased 3.82%, followed by Heliopolis Company for Housing and Development’s stock with 2.64%, and Telecom Egypt’s (TE) stock with 2.28%.

On the flipside, the stocks of Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima), Egyptian Iron and Steel Company (HADISOLB), and Egyptian Resorts Co decreased 1.49%, 0.85%, and 0.65%, respectively.
