Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange opened the mid-week trading session on a mixed note.
By 10:45am Cairo time, the main index EGX30 was 0.2% down to 8,499.9 points amid local selling wave.
Likewise, the equal-weighted index fell 0.7% to 1,423 points.
Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap EGX70 rose 0.7% to 367.5 points and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.3% to 811.7 points.
The largest EGX30 constituent CIB moved up 0.21% to EGP 52.1 a share.
Local investors were net sellers by EGP 27.9 million, while Arab and foreign traders were net buyers by EGP 6.2 million and EGP 21.7 million, respectively.
Trading value reached EGP 175.3 million after 40 million shares were traded.
In terms of trading value, CIB was the most active stock with a turnover crossing EGP 64 million for 1.2 million shares changing hands in 389 transactions.
In terms of volume, OTMT was the leading stock as more than 23.6 million shares were traded at EGP 14 million through 264 deals.
