EGX30 pares early losses, falls 0.3%

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s main index EGX30 erased part of early losses and ended 0.32% lower to 8,351.07 points.

Market capitalizations lost EGP 197 million ($147.4 million) to stand at EGP 418.44 billion, compared with EGP 418.64 billion on Thursday, battered by Arab investors’ selling wave.

EGX30 top gainers were Porto Group (+6.9%), Amer Group (+6.3%), and Egyptian Resorts, (+3.7%).

Meanwhile, the top losers were Edita (-1.6%), Heliopolis Housing (-1.4%), and Domty (-1.2%).

The small and mid-cap EGX70 was 0.7% up to 365.75 points.

The broader index EGX100 edged up 0.23% to 808.52 points.

The equal-weighted index increased 0.60% to 1429.65 points.

Trading value reached EGP 467 million after 286 million shares were traded in 19,000 transactions.

Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 1.3 million and EGP 1.9 million respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 3.2 million.
