Mubasher: US crude oil inventories declined by 1.2% or 6.2 million barrels in the week ended 16 September, according to the American Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Gasoline inventories also shrunk by 3.2 million barrels, while while distillate stockpiles went up by 2.2 million barrels.
This is the third consecutive weekly decline in inventories, which is a sign of the decrease in supplies.
