Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian International Pharmaceutical Industries (EIPICO) signed a cooperation agreement with World Medicine to supply 100,000 remdesivir vials, the COVID-19 antiviral medication, to 11 countries.
The countries include Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Belarus, Kurdistan, Tajikistan as well as Poland, Czech, and Slovakia, according to a bourse disclosure on Wednesday.
The agreement was approved by the concerned authorities in Egypt and Belarus.
In July, EIPICO’s Chairman, Ahmed El-Kilany, said that the company would start manufacturing remdesivir in the beginning of August to be supplied in mid-August.
During the first nine months of 2020, EIPICO achieved net profits of EGP 339.46 million, down from EGP 522.19 million in the year-ago period.
