Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Microfinance Federation’s (EMF) financings surged 78% to EGP 16.2 billion by the end of the third quarter of 2018, from EGP 9.12 billion in the year-ago period, chairperson Mona Zulfikar said.
Beneficiaries of EMF lending increased 26% year-on-year to 3.03 million in the three-month period ended September, compared to 2.4 million persons, Zulfikar added.
The EMF’s credit portfolio to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) advanced by 43% year-on-year to EGP 5.921 billion from July to September, while NGO beneficiaries of lending grew 15 to around 1.874 million.
