Dubai – Mubasher: ENOC Group has opened its third solar-powered service station in 2018 at Discovery Gardens residential community in Dubai.
The fresh station is part of ENOC’s plan to build 54 service stations by 2020, according to a company statement released on Thursday.
“Our new station marks the opening of the UAE’s third solar-powered service station, which falls in line with our commitment to adopt innovative practices to enhance operational efficiency,” ENOC’s Group CEO Saif Humaid al Falasi commented.
The 75,004 square feet station provides customers with various automotive services including, inter alia, a Tasjeel Centre with three bays for vehicle testing and registration, three Autopro bays, and three Prowash car wash bays.
“At ENOC, we keep abreast major technological developments that can be utilised to drive energy savings, reduce carbon emissions and contribute to a sustainable future,” al Falasi said.
A photovoltaic (PV) solar panels with an on-grid system were installed on the station’s canopy roof that can produce up to12 kilowatt of energy per hour, which makes up about 130% of the station's energy needs.
The new facility’s cost was not revealed by the UAE-based energy giant.
