Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has provided RFID-based technology to support DP World’s fleet of vehicles, according to a statement.
The newly introduced system will reduce fuelling time for DP World’s fleet and enhance the efficiency of transporting fuel and oil products from the ports operator’s container terminals to cities around the region.
The new technology will also help DP World in monitoring diesel fuel consumption.
The new system completely replaces the fuel management technology previously installed for DP World at their Jebel Ali facility.
The RFID system is currently set up at DP World’s Terminal 1 and will be rolled out across terminals 2 and 3 this year, and at Terminal 4 early next year.
“The RFID technology is central to the extensive automation efforts at Jebel Ali Port, making it one of the world’s most efficient ports,” according to Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, chairman and CEO of DP World.
