ENOC's unit awards EPC contract to Albanna Engineering

Dubai - Mubasher: ENOC Group’s subsidiary, Horizon Terminals, has awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for a 16.2-kilometre jet fuel pipeline links its storage terminals in Jebel Ali with Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) to Albanna Engineering, the company stated on Sunday.

The construction of the pipeline is planned to be completed in two years, which is scheduled to commence its operations in the first quarter of 2020.

“The jet fuel pipeline to DWC is a strategic infrastructure project that aligns with the growth vision of Dubai and supports the preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai,” ENOC’s Group CEO Saif Humaid Al Falasi commented.

The new pipeline is projected to carry 2,000 cubic metres of jet fuel per hour to DWC upon its completion, the Dubai-based energy company revealed, giving no further details on the value of the contract.

“This award confirms our position as a regional leader in the pipeline construction sector in the UAE and affirms the leading role of Albanna Engineering in the hydrocarbon sector as an EPC contractor,” Albanna Engineering’s chairman Saeed Ahmad Mohd Saleh added.
