Eagle Hills to raise investments to $12bn in Jordan

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Eagle Hills – Jordan, a UAE real estate investor and developer, is planning to increase its investments in Jordan to more than $12 billion from $2.4 billion, along with starting the works of Marsa Zayed project in Aqaba, CEO Alaa Batayneh said Wednesday.

“Our plans include investing about $10 billion in Marsa Zayed project. We expect the handover of the land from the Jordanian government to be in summer 2017,” Batayneh told Mubasher on the sidelines of Cityscape Abu Dhabi.

The company’s operations in Jordan are divided into four projects of which two are in Amman and two in Asaba.

Speaking of the company’s current range of business, the CEO said that Eagle Hills’s projects include Residences St. Regis Hotel which is expected to launch in summer 2017, with investments worth $350 million, and W Hotel which should open in the first quarter of 2017, with investments of $220 million.

Batayneh went on to enumerate the developer’s major projects, saying they also cover the $1.6 billion-investment Saraya, and the $120 million-investment Al Raha Village, the first residential area in Marsa Zayed project.
