Cairo – Mubasher: Eastern Co. registered an 11.1% year-on-year profit decline during fiscal year 2018/2019, according to the company’s consolidated financial indicators.
Net profits retreated to EGP 3.768 billion from July 2018 to last June, compared to EGP 4.240 billion in the year-ago period, the company said in a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on Wednesday.
Year-on-year, sales rose to EGP 13.89 billion in FY18/19 from EGP 13.41 billion.
During the first nine months of FY18/19, the Egyptian tobacco company’s profits plunged by 15.77% to EGP 2.89 billion, compared to EGP 3.43 billion in the year-ago period.
